An essential document in business, the invoice allows you to pay. It is also proof of the service or sale that has been made. Very important, it must be established in due form and must meet specific rules to be valid. So, what is an invoice? What is its role, and what legal notices should it include? Focus on this essential accounting element in business.

Definition of an invoice

The invoice is an accounting document that proves a purchase or a sale. It lists the goods and services provided by your business, and at the same time, indicates their price, as well as the total amount payable by the buyer.

The invoice is therefore essential since it is the document that identifies the creditor (yourself) and the debtor (your customer) and serves as a request for payment. But to be valid, it must meet certain conditions.

According to the legislation in force, the invoice is obligatory. Note that the buyer has the right to claim a claim if it has not been sent to him.

What is his role?

The invoice is an essential document that will allow:

  • The follow-up of the various commercial transactions, essential for your accounting, your tax return, but also to know your financial situation with precision;
  • To prove what you have won;
  • To justify the agreement concluded with the customer. You will need to present it clearly to avoid misunderstandings;
  • To request payment from your buyer. You will then receive the money owed for your work;
  • To implement actions in the event of unpaid debts ;
  • To promote your activity and develop the image of your company through a logo or links to social media.

How long do you have to keep an invoice?

It all depends on the country in which you reside. Indeed, the VAT directive allows the countries of the European Union to impose their storage periods. Thus France will not have the exact requirements as Spain in terms of the shelf life of an invoice.

What are the different types of invoices?

There are several types of invoices :

  • The standard invoice: this is the most common document. It can be used for several sectors of activity and consists of a fundamental format containing all the necessary information.
  • The commercial invoice is used in international trade to ship goods from one country to another.
  • The pro forma invoice, estimate, or estimate gives the buyer an estimate of the price of the products or services.
  • The closing invoice : which closes a contract between a service provider and a customer.
  • The bill to have: it allows to cancel or modify an established invoice.
  • The down payment invoice allows justifying the amount paid upstream of the delivery or realizing a good or service.
  • The situation invoice, also called progress invoice or intermediate invoice, allows spreading the payment of a site or a project and invoice.
  • The regularization invoice is carried out following the reading of an index of a meter.

What elements must appear on the invoice?

To be compliant, an invoice must contain various legal notices. It is made up of 3 main parts:

The header

The header, which contains several mandatory information, such as:

  • The word “invoice,” which must appear at the top of the document;
  • The date of issue (date of sale);
  • The number which must respect a logical numbering;
  • The address of both parties;
  • The VAT number or company identification number, SIREN number, or even RCS number.

Goods or services

The lines of the invoice must indicate the various goods or services provided as well as their price. They must also describe the different components of a project or product and their unit price.

In-service provision, the lines must also indicate the hourly rate and the time devoted to each part of the project. Do not also forget to tell the date of delivery or end of the service.

Tips for writing an invoice

First of all, be as clear and complete as possible in describing your services and products. The customer wants to know precisely what he is buying! A beautiful presentation also makes all the difference and directly reflects your professionalism.

On the other hand, be aware that using invoicing software will save you time and avoid oversights. This efficient tool not only guarantees compliant invoices but also considerably facilitates administrative management. In addition, your documents are searchable from anywhere, and follow-up and reminders are greatly simplified.

If you don’t have any software available yet, you could very well use Word or Excel. You have to be vigilant about the many legal notices to remember.

DECT stands for “Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications” and represents an international digital standard for wireless telecommunications. DECT telephones are becoming increasingly common, especially in private households. In the following article, you can find out what DECT telephones are, what convenience the standard brings, and more.

What is a DECT phone, and how does it work?

DECT is the current standard for cordless voice and data communication. A DECT telephone uses frequency ranges below 2.45 GHz and is therefore immune to higher frequencies such as WLAN or Bluetooth. Since 2009, the operating license for other cordless telephones has expired because their frequency bands were assigned elsewhere.

Since then, DECT technology has been the only radio transmission standard used in Germany to use radio telephones. Earlier predecessors of the wireless standard for cordless telephones are CT1 + and CT2. In contrast to smartphones, DECT telephones are limited in their range and must always be connected to a base station to function.

THEREFORE, a DECT system always consists of two components that are constantly in communication with one another. On the one hand, there is the cordless telephone itself, which is also called a mobile part, and on the other hand, a base station also called a fixed part. The DECT base station forms the bridge between the telephone and Internet connection and the handset. This can either be the base station supplied by the manufacturer or your router, supporting the DECT function.

If you are outside a certain radius of the base station, the signal may drop out. Inside buildings, the range is up to 50 meters and outdoors even up to 300 meters. A DECT telephone, a cordless, stationary telephone, can be connected to one or more base stations. The DECT base station charges the battery and can also be connected to the router to receive calls throughout the household. In addition, an answering machine is often integrated there. In short, DECT is to landline telephones what WLAN is to the Internet.

What features does DECT bring with it?

  • Solid range (inside up to 50 meters, outside up to 300 meters)
  • Improved sound quality compared to older standards
  • Energy saving
  • Frequency range independent of the WLAN
  • safe against eavesdropping attempts

What about the radiation from DECT?

Like other radio standards, DECT systems also emit electromagnetic radiation to the environment and also to people. The base station continuously sends a signal, while the handset only sends a signal when there is an active call. However, the specific absorption rate (SAR) of a DECT device is below the maximum intended load of 2 W / kg. On average, DECT devices have a value of 0.05-0.1 W / kg. The continuous radiation of the DECT systems has been a discussed topic for years, which the Federal Office has also criticized for Radiation Protection (BfS). The manufacturers then received requirements to reduce the radiation. As a result, labels like ECO mode or alsoECO + were established, which are intended to reduce radiation in standby mode further. Compared to smartphones, the maximum permitted limit values for radiation from DECT telephones are higher, but most current DECT devices have lower radiation values.

Deep Learning is one of the main technologies for Machine Learning and artificial intelligence. Find out what this technology consists of, how it works, and its different application sectors.

Deep Learning Simple Definition And Its Origin

The concept of Machine Learning dates from the middle of the 20th century. In the 1950s, the British mathematician Alan Turing imagined a machine capable of learning, a “Learning Machine”. Over the following decades, different machine learning techniques were developed to create algorithms capable of learning and improving independently.

Deep Learning vs Machine Learning? Not Really

Among these techniques are artificial neural networks. It is on these algorithms that Deep Learning is based, but also technologies such as image recognition or robotic vision. Artificial neural networks are inspired by neurons in the human brain. They are made up of several artificial neurons connected together. The higher the number of neurons, the “deeper” the network.

Deep Learning: How It Works?

Within the human brain, each neuron receives approximately 100,000 electrical signals from other neurons. Each active neuron can produce an exciting or inhibitory effect on those to which it is connected. In an artificial network, the principle is similar. Signals travel between neurons. However, instead of an electrical signal, the neural network assigns a certain weight to different neurons. A neuron that receives more charge will have more effect on adjacent neurons. The final layer of neurons emits a response to these signals.

To understand how Deep Learning works, let’s take a concrete example of image recognition. Imagine that the neural network is used to recognize photos that include at least one cat. To be able to identify the cats in the photos, the algorithm must be able to distinguish the different types of cats and to recognize a cat in a precise way whatever the angle from which it is photographed.

Deep Learning Examples

Deep Learning has many uses. It is this technology that is used for facial recognition of Facebook for example, in order to automatically identify your friends in photos. It is also this technology that allows Face ID recognition of the Apple iPhone X to improve over time. As previously explained, machine learning is also the central technology for image recognition.

To translate oral conversations in real-time, software like Skype or Google Translate also rely on machine learning. It is also thanks to this technology that artificial intelligence Google Deepmind AlphaGo has managed to triumph over the world champion. In recent years, with the appearance of convolutional neural networks, Deep Learning has been at the heart of computer vision and robotic vision.

As Professor Peter Corke explains, since artificial neural networks mimic the functioning of the human brain, the possibilities offered by this technology will increase as we uncover the secrets of our own organ. By understanding the algorithm on which the human brain is based, and the means that evolution has given us over time to understand images, reverse engineering will allow us to bring the potential of the human brain to artificial networks.

Secure Socket Layer provides security services by encrypting the data exchanged between the server and the client with an algorithm symmetric encryption, typically the RC4 or IDEA, and encrypting the session key RC4 or IDEA using an encryption algorithm public key, typically the RSA.

Origin Of Secure Socket Layer

Secure Socket Layer is a set of protocols general character designed in 1994 by the company Netscape Communications Corporation and is based on the combined application of Symmetric Cryptography, Cryptography Asymmetric (public key), digital certificates and digital signatures for a channel or secure means of communication over the Internet.

Symmetric cryptographic systems, the main engine for encrypting data transferred in communication, take advantage of the speed of operation, while asymmetric systems are used for the secure exchange of symmetric keys, thereby solving the problem of confidentiality. in data transmission.

Process Of Secure Socket Layer

When connected to a secure server ( https: // www … ), browsers warn of this circumstance by means of a yellow padlock on the bottom partner and also allow to check the information contained in the digital certificate that enables it as a secure server. SSL allows collecting data such as credit card information, etc. in a secure environment since the information sent through a secure form is transmitted to the server in encrypted form.

SSL implements a negotiation protocol to establish a secure communication at the socked level (machine name plus port), transparently to the user and the applications that use it.

When the client asks the secure server for secure communication, the server opens an encrypted port, managed by a software called the SSL Record Protocol, located above TCP. The top-level software, SSL Handshake Protocol, will use the SSL Record Protocol and the open port to communicate securely with the client.

General characteristics Of Secure Socket Layer

  • SSL implements a negotiation protocol to establish a secure communication at the socked level (machine name plus port), transparently to the user and the applications that use it.
  • The identity of the secure web server (and sometimes also of the client user) is obtained by means of the corresponding Digital Certificate, of which its validity is verified before starting the exchange of sensitive data (Authentication), while the security of data integrity exchanged, the Digital Signature is carried out through hash functions and the checking of summaries of all the data sent and received.
  • SSL provides security services to the protocol stack, encrypting outgoing data from the Application layer before they are segmented into the Transport layer and encapsulated and sent by the lower layers. What’s more, you can also apply compression algorithms to the data to send and fragment blocks larger than 214 bytes, re-assembling them at the receiver.
  • Its implementation in the OSI and TCP / IP reference models, SSL is introduced as a kind of additional layer or layer, located between the Application Layer and the Transport layer, replacing the sockets of the operating system, which makes it independent of the application that uses it, and it is generally implemented on port 443.

A gadget or electronic device is a device that has a specific purpose and function, generally of small proportions, practical and at the same time novel. Gadgets tend to be more ingenious in design than current technology.

History Of The Word Gadget

A gadget is a small tool, like a machine that has a particular function but is often considered a novelty.

The origins of the word “gadget” date back to the 19th century, however, the etymology of the word is in dispute. A widely circulated story holds that the word was “made up” when the Gadget, Gauthier & Cie company, the person responsible for the construction of the embossing of the Statue of Liberty in 1886, made a small-scale version of the monument and called it it’s business; however this is contradicted by evidence that the word was already used in nautical circles before, and the fact that it did not become popular, at least in the US, until after World War I.

Other sources cite a derivation from the and that has been applied to various parts of a trigger mechanism, or the French word gagée, a small tool or accessory.

Another curious fact is that the first atomic bomb was nicknamed “the gadget” by the scientists of the Manhattan Project.

In the software industry, “gadget” refers to computer programs that provide services without the need for a separate application to start each one, but instead run in an environment that manages multiple gadgets. There are various implementations based on software development techniques, such as JavaScript.

The first documented use of the term gadget in the context of software engineering was in 1985 by the developers of the Amiga operating system.

Currently, the use of the term gadget to designate consumer electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and other latest technology devices, is widely recognized.

Top Ten Gadgets

In the last 50 years, many gadgets have emerged, according to the design of each section, utility, and innovation when going out the window, he related a list with the best ten gadgets of recent years:

Google Drive. The online storage service that has been on the lips of the entire tech sector for months has made its debut today. This is how Google Drive arrives, an open secret that highlights the importance of cloud storage and makes direct competition to the equivalent services of Apple -iCloud-, Microsoft -SkyDrive- and others such as Dropbox or Box.com. Google Drive comes as a place to create, share, collaborate and store your documents and files. You will be able to store photos, videos, Google Docs documents, PDFs and much more.

Main Features

With Google Drive we can create the following:

  • Bulleted list item Create and Collaborate: Google Docs is built into Google Drive, allowing you to collaborate with others in real-time on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Add and reply to comments about anything: PDF files, images, video, etc. and receive notifications when other people comment on the shared items.
  • Bulleted list item Store everything safely and access from anywhere, especially on the go. All your things will be right when you need it, no matter where you are whenever you have Internet access. Drive can be installed as much on PC as on Mac and initially on Android, although it will come to iOS later.
  • Bulleted list item Search easily: you will have facilities to find your files since we can filter by file type owner, activity, size, etc. As a novelty, we highlight the integration of Optical Character Recognition (OCR), that is, if you upload a photo/image with text, Google Drive will index that text as well and we will be able to find the image by it -currently that technique is in testing phase -. East.

Capacity Of Google Drive

Google offers 5 Gbytes of capacity to all users for free, placing itself ahead of services such as Dropbox, a true benchmark in the sector. Gmail. It is the mail server that is part of the different Google applications.

History Of Gmail

Gmail, called elsewhere in Google Mail (Germany, Austria, and the United Kingdom) due to legal problems, is an email service with free POP3 and IMAP possibilities provided by the American company Google as of April 15, 2004, and which it has captured the attention of the media for its technological innovations, its capacity, and for some news that alerted about the violation of the privacy of users.

After more than 5 years, the Gmail service, together with Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Talk and Google Buzz; on July 7, 2009, they stopped being Beta and became finished products.

In the beginning, it was different for having a striking storage capacity for those years, more than a gigabyte, and a peculiar way of displaying messages: instead of viewing each piece separately, communication through this service is organized in ” conversations. “

Technical Characteristics Of Gmail

  • This service offers a storage capacity of more than 7 GB and Google affirms that this number will continue to increase. Currently, the growth rate is approximately 4 bytes per second. Since its inception, Gmail had significantly outstripped the storage offerings of its main competitors (Yahoo! Mail, and Hotmail). It is now in second place, as Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, and Windows Live Hotmail share first place by offering unlimited space.
  • This service stood out among other things for using a simple and advanced message search system, such as changing the language, placing a vacation notice, similar to that of the Google web search engine, which owed its slogan “Search, do not order”. In addition, it provides a mechanism for labeling messages, which expands the possibilities of traditional folders.
  • The Gmail interface is now available in forty languages, including Spanish and Catalan. It uses AJAX technology, being pioneers in using it, although it also has an interface based on HTML + CSS useful for old or unsupported browsers.
  • Another interesting aspect is the message filter that has many options beyond automatically labeling messages.
  • The maximum size of each message (text and attached files) is 25 MB.
  • The account is credited with SSL. Except in the case of old browsers in which the connection is without encryption.
  • The main page can also be encrypted by SSL.
  • Gmail is available for mobile devices, although Gmail mobile does not have all the features of the traditional service. In addition to browser access to a mobile phone, there is a Java application for a large number of compatible phones.
  • Supported browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, K-Meleon, Opera, Google Chrome; with partial support for AOL and Konqueror browser.

Background Of The Invitations

Since its inception, registration for an email account was restricted through an invitation system. With the launch of the service, the first invitations were sent to employees and users of Google services.

These, in turn, had a limited number of invitations to distribute among their contacts and so on. In principle, the initial fee for each user was two invitations, which over time increased. This system generated great expectations among a large part of Internet users.

In January 2007, Gmail registrations were fully released, and it is now possible to register without invitations.

Contacts

When a message is sent, the address of the To, Cc or Bcc fields is automatically stored in a list for the user to consult and add information such as associating an image or grouping them. Contacts are imported in several different ways, from Microsoft Outlook, Eudora, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Orkut or any other contact list capable of being exported as a CSV file. Gmail also allows users to export their contacts to CSV.

Chat

Google Talk can be accessed through a web interface on the site. The web interface is capable of supporting voice and webcam calls if the Google Talk client is running in the background. All messages are archived in the Chats section.

If the recipient is not available, all messages sent will be delivered directly by email. Another feature of Google Talk is voice integration, where the message is sent to the recipient of the Gmail inbox, as well as sending images.

From the 4 of December of 2007, the company announced integration with AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and XMPP, allowing in both cases these accounts send instant messages and view the online status of users of AIM and XMPP.

Presentations, for example, PowerPoint, can also be viewed directly in the browser.
